It is to deny; to abstain. There is such a deep sense of joy in refusal. It is true rebellion. I walk past cafes along the beach strip and notice people crunching their prawns, sucking down milkshakes and spoon-feeding ice cream to their children and all I’m left thinking is; if only they knew…
